Micro-Poise Measurement Systems, LLC

Micro-Poise Measurement Systems, LLC manufacture ITW Akron Standard Tire uniformity machines and ITW Micro-Poise Dynamic balance solutions for the tire and automotive industries, with over 85 years of experience with tire uniformity machines, automotive balancers, and geometry measurement systems.

Akron Standard™'s uniformity machines, ASTEC® and FD90, and their Micro-Poise™ balancers are industry standard-bearers. Each is a high-quality, reliable combination of cutting-edge technology supported by standard, commercially available parts.

Micro-Poise Measurement Systems, LLC manufacture the following for the tire industry:

ASTEC® Tire Uniformity machine: Provides all equipment required to check tires for force variation, including an automatic adjustable-width chuck. Only one rim set is required for most bead diameters, so rim changing is minimized.

AkroDYNE Tire Dynamic Balance Machine: Production Tire Dynamic Balance machine.

FD90 Truck Tire Uniformity Machine: The FD90 assures tire quality by measuring, grading, and marking large over-the-road and off-road vehicle tires according to force variation, runout, and sidewall appearance.

Effective Radius Variation Measurement(ERV): ERV is a major contributor to “Fore-aft Force Variation” and a cause of annoying vehicle vibrations. Measuring ERV provides the only realistic economic solution to controlling fore-aft variation in a production atmosphere.
ERV measurement on a low speed uniformity machine is an economical way to measure contributing factors and provides information for process improvement. The Akron Standard ERV measurement provides the necessary information to improve the tire building process.

ASTEK Tire Geometry Inspection System: The ASTEC Tire Geometry Machine assures tire quality by measuring tire sidewall bulges and depressions as well as lateral and radial runout.

TQC-PC® Controller Upgrade: The new TQC-PC® Controller upgrade with Windows XP® operating system for data presentation and communications to factory host systems, and is a direct replacement for the Akron Standard TQC-86 controller. Lateral and Conicity grind capability is also now available in the new TQC-PC® controller. Model TGIS-SL® "Sheet-of-Light" Tire Geometry Measurement system can be integrated into the new TQC-PC® controller.

Tire Geometry Inspection System
TGIS-SL Sheet-of-Light Laser: Geometry Systems provides non-contact inspection that uses lasers to measure irregularities in the tire tread and sidewalls. The latest additions to our stable of measurement products. The TGIS/sl, measures anomalies such as bulges, depressions, and run-outs using laser-triangulation methods.
The TGIS/SL produces a Sheet of Light that collects more data per pass than a traditional laser point. It is the most accurate, repeatable, precise, and fastest tire inspection system available today. It integrates with Akron Standard uniformity machines as well as third-party tire handling devices.

TGIS-FPL Sinlge Point Laser: The TGIS-FPL is a reliable single point laser tire geometry measurement system. The system is designed for customers who only require a single track measurement or whose cycle times allow for multiple measurement cycles on different tracks.
